BIG 'OLE SIGH.
All together now.
S-I-G-H.
Alex didn't meet his end of the bargain regarding something at school, so today I am a helicopter mother. I am back in middle school, making sure he writes down his homework and has it signed off by his teacher. Each teacher. Each class.
Makes for a strange day...I have to be there approximately every 47 minutes. I can deal. I have all the time in the world for this child.
He was warned and last night didn't take the news all that well; hence, the wall. It's all OK...we have spackle and paint and he has a 4 day weekend next week.
He may have given up, but we haven't.
Before our children were even born, M and I chose life verses for them...a verse or two or three that would start them off on their path until they were old enough to choose their own. They were the 1st verses they memorized and we've spent a lot of time talking to them about why we picked those particular verses for them. Quite simply, they are our favorites.
We chose Alex's years ago when I was only 17 weeks pregnant. And in labor. Again. It was a scary time and once again, the DR's kept saying it wasn't looking good. But in my heart, I knew it would be OK. I knew.
I knew.
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
Alex loves the story, so last night between the after supper discussion and the wall incident and before the chocolate chip cookies came out of the oven, I told it to him again. And why dad and I chose them. And how they mean even more to me today than they did on that night so long ago.
God has a plan for you, Alex. He knows you and He WILL listen.
Spackle won't do the entire job. You will need mesh tape, then spackle. If that doesn't do it, then the drywall needs to be cut and a new piece screwed into the studs. Yep, I've done that when my husband put his head through the wall. You should have seen the size of that hole! oh, his head, nothing wrong with that, just the wall. I have it primed, but still need to paint the wall again.
