Smells good, lasts forever and is totally inexpensive to make....all of which I like.

There's a bunch of recipes out there, but this is the one I use:
Start with:
20 Mule Team Borax
Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (NOT baking soda or detergent...I buy mine at Ace Hardware)
6 bars of good 'ole Ivory Soap

Quarter the bars of ivory soap and put them in the food processor. Pulse a few times...they'll blob together.
Add 3 cups EACH of the borax and the washing soda.
Pulse it again until it's all blended and the soap is teeny tiny.
Throw it in a bucket and it's ready to go!
For each load (I have a front load HE washer and this works great...it's low suds) use 1 Tablespoon.
Yep...only 1 T per load. You can use 2 if your clothes are extra dirty, but even with my houseful of boys I only use 1...even when I had a top load washer. You'll be tempted to use more, but you don't need too....really!

The rest of today was spent shredding papers.
Fun!
(not really, but necessary.)

We're down to two boys this week...Alex is in Las Vegas all week for a basketball tournament. It's quiet around here. =0(
