Sick Mother Hubbard

I ventured out to Costco today because after three days of the mama being sick (sick after a weekend? not acceptable!!) the cupboards were bare.

And with a houseful of boys, you NEVER want the cupboards to be bare or they get extremely grumpy.

Let's go over the scene again.

Take a sick mama. Add to it bare cupboards AND grumpy men-folk. What do you get?

A weepy woman and weepy boys.

So, like I said before, I ventured out because I was feeling a bit better and made it close to 1/3 of the way thru Costco before I felt like I couldn't make it.

Too achy. Too tired. Too coughy, too sniffly, too sneezy.

I forced myself to keep going, throwing things in my cart that I thought might make someone, anyone, happy. Things like 30lbs of pork products. And cinnamon rolls. And the largest bag of chex mix I have ever seen. Oh, and lets not forget the flowers...gotta have fresh flowers.

We now have food and I have to say, there is nothing like the love boys give a mama who has gone grocery shopping.

Nothing like it at all.

  1. LOL---we've been trapped inside for the last two days (check my blog for the pics) and the boys have been plowing through the food! Good thing I hit the grocery store on Sunday evening or I might be braving the weather to find a grocery store. :) Hope you are feeling better friend. Take a nap--the boys have food now--they can fend for themselves. :)

  2. I'm so sorry you've been sick. I hope you feel better soon!

I had to stock up on groceries and wine before the mother of all blizzards arrived. It's a good thing...we're still snowed in. I had a moment of panic when I thought I was out of chocolate, but then I found a bar of sea salted dark chocolate I had bought and stuck in the cabinet. Whew!
