OK, rain. It's been fun. But now it's time for you to go away.

Brian has been loving it though, and thankfully owns an extra pair of old shoes or two, because the bestest thing in the world is playing soccer and football in the rain. Rain means mud. And what boy doesn't want the go ahead from mom to play in the muck?
And excuse the cheesy smile.
It wouldn't be so bad if he only did this once...but it seems that as soon as he comes in and gets cleaned up then someone else calls for a mud match.
My washing machine is tired. Very, very tired.
This morning, after being awake in the middle of the night, I was totally, totally dragging. The rainy weather didn't help, nor did the fact that my car's 4 wheel drive locked on yesterday and I was stressed about it.
But then I got an SOS call that a MOPs leader was ill and out I ran with my hair in a very pathetic looking barrette.
Whatever works, I tell ya.
Once there I found out that there was no copy of the devotion she was supposed to give and couldn't I just wing it?
Sigh. Not my gift. But in the end it all worked out well...and on the way home, the 4WD unlocked.
And then the rains stopped for a brief 30 minutes and the sun came out.
God is good.

Oh, and because I know that you've all been on pins and needles...Brian got a B+ on his science fair project. And then he criticized my typing.
Gotta love the baby.

We we enjoyed tha very much
ReplyDeleteMy girls used to go on a "mud run" at summer camp. Fortunately that was just once a summer, and the camp always tells parents to send with some old clothes and shoes that can be thrown out afterwards because they will never come clean. Laundry problem solved! (Although one year one of the girls brought home a set of very muddy, very moldy smelling clothes...which I promptly threw out.)
ReplyDeleteI think this was the camp's way of making sure the kids took at least one shower at camp...unless they had a counselor like Kate did one year that made them take daily showers and keep the cabin picked up.
One of my boys (I'm thinking it was Alex) came home a week later wearing the exact same clothes we dropped him off in. He had put on a bathing suit each day to swim, but then right back into the same clothes...putting the wet towel in his suitcase until the next day.
ReplyDeleteEwwww!!
I, too, threw everything out. I sent him with junky stuff anyway, but it wasn't even worth trying to save!
Gotta love camp, though...it's the best! Remember Laura's letter to my mom? "Camp is fun. Gotta go...the roof just fell in." =0)
That must have been Cheryl. I was never in a tent cabin (a cabin with walls, and a tent roof).
ReplyDeleteYes, that was my camp letter : )
ReplyDeleteI wonder if my mom still has it? Definitely worth framing. =0)
ReplyDeleteTHe science project video was a riot. He felt completely justified in blaming you. Amazing, isn't it? Good to hear M talking in the background.
ReplyDeleteCrazy about your rains, but yes, it makes perfect sense that mud and boys go together, over and over.
Does the moaning and panting of your washer keep you up at night??
