Drum and Bugle Corps season, that is.
It's also ending. This will be Matthew's 7th and final summer marching...at 21, he will 'age out' and not be eligible to participate anymore. It'll be a bittersweet summer...we've spent every summer following each and every show of his either in person or online.
He's not the only one who will miss it.

Summer vacation is still over a week away for the younger boys (June 15th) and not until June 24th for me...I am so ready, I can hardly stand it.
I'm at the point of the school year (have been for awhile now, actually) where I am done with bed times and wake up times and homework and trying to wrangle laughing children who are having a ball playing outside in to the house so they can shower and go to bed when I would rather listen to them frolic outside by the light of the early moon.
So. Ready. For. Summer.

Summer has begun for me! My last day of teaching was the Friday before Memorial weekend, and then the teachers worked this week to box everything up and close up the school. I was finished at 2:00 on Friday. Now I am getting ready for my big trip to England to meet up with Kate!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a much longer break than usual this summer. Usually we go for a week in June and the teachers are out mid-June and due back mid-August. I'll take the extra time :)
