Friday I had an 'at home' morning/afternoon and it was so perfect. I had a ton of work to do for my former non-profit and new board position, laundry to do and a house to get in order.
Shoo'ed all boys out the door, got the house cleaned up and then there was a knock at my door from my neighbor needing to borrow a 1/2 tsp of baking powder. No problem.
And then she brought me this...butternut squash risotto and a chocolate souffle cake.
OH MY.
So here I sat at my computer...feasting.

(thanks, Gwen...you are amazing!)
Friday evening was the annual ice cream social at Brian's school. It was just Brian and I this year...M had a rehearsal and dinner to go to. It's always fun to catch up with friends, especially since we don't see each much anymore now that our kids walk themselves to/from school.
Home to Alex and his friends, who I then ordered pizza for. They ended up playing video games and then football outside until 10:00pm. Alex had a 7am training session the next morning...yawn.
Saturday morning and Brian's soccer game....M was at a rehearsal and a workshop all day. No goal today but a lot of assists, plus some really intense parents. Sigh. They won 6-4 but that wasn't good enough for some parents. Yowza.
On to Alex's game in Huntington Beach. They won easily, but once again the parents...this time on the other side, were really intense. Fun to watch Alex, though...so fun, too, that his dad finished his workshop, hopped in his car and drove to the game just to see the last 20 minutes.

On the way home from the game, Alex and I hit the In n Out drive thru, picked up Brian from his friends and got them settled at home. I changed and went to meet up with M and his students, plus Robert Hobby (this weekend's guest organist for the hymnfest) at Nick's, where we had a crazy fun time.
Oh yeah....my son was there, too. That was the best part.

Natalie and Rick being silly!
M and M...you'd think I'd learn to pick up my head when I take our picture. And you'd think he'd grow tired of laughing after all these years....I sure do like him.

Home, got boys to bed with the instructions to sleep in...no early church for us this morning. We're all going to the hymnfest this afternoon...M is conducting and Matthew is singing. I can't wait...haven't heard the choir for awhile.
M is getting sick...not sure how or why. I mean, he's only been running non-stop for the last few weeks and running himself into the ground...and there is no end in sight.
That's how you make the big bucks...right?
