Sadly, my phone is on the fritz and so I haven't been taking too many pictures. I'm due for a new one, but the engine light in my car trumps a new iPhone at this stage of the game...as well as the fact that it's the holiday season.
Tis the season to be cheap.
So here's what's up from the weekend. Eggs in a basket. My boys LOVE these and while I'm not normally much of a breakfast maker, I did surprise them on Saturday morning.
Vote for me. Mom of the year.

The rest of the weekend was busy...basketball for the youngest (with mom driving), work for the boy in the middle and that guy that I like so much played for a church anniversary in a city up near where Matthew lives.
There was also a 4.75 miler for me and an afternoon spent on the couch watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel while ignoring the fact that the laundry needed to be done.
And then came Saturday night...a text of 'come over' led to more bottles of wine than I can even remember and lots and lots and LOTS of laughing.
My face still hurts.
The two on the left? Sisters. The interesting thing is that Beril, the one on the middle, looks EXACTLY like my fake ID picture in my youth. (yes, I did...sorry, Mom. But COME ON...I was MARRIED at 20 and couldn't even drink. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
The lovely thing about the morning after the above photo was the extra hour of sleep. It wasn't enough, but it helped. We were pretty slow moving the rest of the weekend, but I think that needs to happen sometimes...and that's ok.

Sunday found us in church in separate places...M directed the choir at one while the boys and I drove north to our 'home' church. I love how quickly it takes us to feel connected there again...basically, as soon as we pull into the parking lot.

The rest of the day we lounged...took down all the Halloween decorations and put up the Thanksgiving ones, watched some football, made a yummy pot of beef stew, bought my first Christmas gifts, took my first long bath of the wintery season and actually went to bed early so I could read in the quiet.
Nice.
