The common cold has landed in our house, affecting 3 of the 5 of us. Fortunately, the 2 singers have remained untouched and are living on Airborne and Vitamin C. Alex and I are loving NyQuil and DayQuil...and poor Brian. He probably should have stayed home this week, but had to go because I had to be at his school all week. He's on the mend now, and so are Alex and I.
All is well.
I did my Meals on Wheels run today and actually sat and had lunch with my dear friend, Josephine. This 94 year old woman is so amazing. She is so positive about life and is such a bright shining light...I feel blessed to be able to spend some time with her.
Matthew has concerts tonight and tomorrow night. Michael has concerts tomorrow and two on Saturday. Tomorrow evening is a faculty party at our house afterwards...is anyone willing to come and clean? Saturday in between concerts is the President's party and on Sunday? Sunday is church and then a basketball tournament in Carlsbad. Oh, and there will be 45 college students coming for dinner.
We must be crazy.
But it is tradition and they don't seem to mind cramming into the little house that we call home.
Have I mentioned that it is supposed to rain?
Normally, they eat outside and then move inside, but every once in awhile it rains and that plan goes out the window. Along with my sanity.
It always works out, thanks to mass quantities of food.
=0)
Food lately here has been nothing to write home about. It's pretty much anything I can pull from the freezer or throw together at the last minute. Next week will be better. I am now going to put on my jammies and make myself a hot cup of tea, turn on Survivor and wait for the NyQuil to kick in, which usually takes about 5 minutes. Sounds heavenly.
If it rains wouldn't it then be in the window and not out?
