The sun is shining and the breeze is breezing and ahhhh....it's Friday. I've got a pot of shredded beef ragu simmering away in my favorite red pot on the stove and will toss it with pasta in a few hours, make a huge salad and cut some bread and then whoever walks through the front door will be fed.
There's always a crowd of boys of some sort and if I need to stretch things I make the salad a little bigger and cut some more bread and, knock on wood, there always seems to be plenty.
Don't worry...there'll be wine for the grown ups who show up, too.

I've been strolling through my neighborhood this week...there are so many coffee shops within walking distance and I'm trying to get into a new habit. When I am getting stir crazy I just throw on my shoes and walk to either starbucks or peets or the coffee bean, grab a coffee or tea to carry me through the rest of the day and walk on home.
It's so easy to miss the 'pretty' while driving in my car.
Plus...there are lots of of people around these parts and sometimes it's nice to just get out for a bit.

Two weeks from today and I will be on summer break. I'm ready for a little quiet but kind of mourning a bit, too. Kinda wondering what the next school year will hold and what my job will look like but then again, I can't control any of that with worry so I'm going to need to just let it be.
I just feel a bit (ok, more than a bit) like I'm on the outside looking in. The big question...is what's in really worth being in?
My brain is on overdrive...it must be time for summer.

In really happy news:
the grill is fixed and all is well.

I don't normally do this and the photos are both horrid but seriously, if you have a big neck, please check your thyroid.
And laugh lines? Well...I could get rich off them if they were to go to auction. They're staying cuz I just can't see life without laughing.

Happy, happy Friday. If you need me, I'll be in my garden. With a glass of wine. And Abba.
